I love everybody in this picture! Right next to me is Dotty Zens, known affectionately as “Mamita”. Her presence truly brings warmth into the lives of those who know her, and I think she gives the best, most reassuring hugs. Next to Dotty are Toni and Ferdi, a wonderful married couple I have the privilege of sharing an apartment with. They are two of the coolest people I have ever met. And I’ve met a lot of cool people in my (almost) 23 years of existence on this earth…

Can you see the sadness in his eyes? This little boy broke my heart. I have to remember to keep him in my prayers, because I know that God still loves him, even though his mother doesn’t.

Some students from Moody Bible Institute came to volunteer at Samaritana in March. A few of them, like the guy in this picture, have been coming year after year and have ongoing friendships with the women at Samaritana.

This is what it looks like inside one of the bars in the notorious Fields Avenue up north in Angeles City. Fields Avenue is one of the largest red-light districts in the world, if not the largest. Our friends at RENEW Foundation are working with the girls and women up there.
